In a nutshell, it left a lot to be desired. Well, if you ask me, this was not what we all signed up for when we got the Fire TV Stick.
This led me to try a couple of alternative methods , however, a bunch of them refused to work.
Could that be done? Though it requires a bit of initial setup, the end results are worth it. First off, you'd have to enable the option for Unknown Sources.
So, the first step would be to get the file manager. Once you've located the app, install it. Once an app has been installed on a Fire TV device, the icon for that app typically goes to the very end of the list of all apps installed on the device.
Then scroll down to the bottom. Click that, and it will take you to the same full list of all installed apps. Any apps further down in the list beyond that can only be seen when you call up the full list of all apps.
You all are great! I finally got it to play going through all these but guess what, no sound! Any ideas on that? Through the three dots menu I tried both primary and secondary audio with no luck.
But on my app, I see only the same Primary or Secondary audio settings as the only choices. Anyone notice the slight jerky video format?
Reminds me of early Kodi stuff. Even installed on an Android TV Box and it played the same. I did this and it worked great for a few weeks until it stopped working this week.
Anyone else have this problem? Then go back, restart the app, and re-set it up by doing the Google account authentication on a PC or mobile device.
Worked well till now. I assume Amazon or Google shut it down somehow? Get a message saying something about not being able to play whatever program i choose because of licensing.
This no longer works. Installed Youtube TV on a Firestick a couple of months ago with no problem. So the app and service is still definitely working.
All I can suggest is, make sure to try and follow the several steps I explained above for refreshing and re-setting up the app. Just installed on my FireTV not fire stick and it works Not too bad of a pic and for the dev to make this work is freaking awesome!
Thank you! Yesterday trying to watch football games was impossible. Have tried every option on app startup bu nothing helps. Disabled auto frame rate and that helped slightly but still too rough to watch sports.
I have a 80 mps ISP so bandwith is not an issue. No problems on my Shield but have noticed jumpy stream on another android box.
Please advise. I depend on my fire sticks when traveling and at the lake condo. YouTube TV is definitely a great streaming service for live tv but this modified app is definitely in need of an upgrade.
YouTube must have changed something in their stream. Just read on here that Amazon has been pushing out an update to the Fire OS.
So I uninstalled previous version in the original post and installed this version. Used the p alternate option and it works. Just received the amazon fire stick 4K and app in previous post works well on it also.
Green screen problems on some channels. Well documented in HDHomeRun forum. In doing the install, I also reinstalled the bit version of the Crosswalk supporting software.
So I went back and re-set everything and tried the 2nd menu choice for setup, something like alternate, and that seemed to work OK once I set the video player settings back to P.
I am trying to install the app on the fire tv with 4k, but I keep getting an error. Help please! Every time I type in the address bit.
No download, nothing. Pleeeease advise! Use the link below but you will have to remove the spaces in the link. But the video resolution choices I get in the video settings menu of the app seem to be a bit flakey — sometimes the video menu shows p or p as being available, and other times the menu tops out at p.
For me, the new app always plays fine at p, just like the earlier version did. But with the new app, sometimes it seems I can play at higher resolutions, but other times, the video seems to fail to start or play at anything other than P.
Don't worry. You are not alone. These issues usually go away with a factory reset. But how does one reset the Fire TV Stick?
Whether you have the Alexa Voice Remote remote or not, you can reset it using the following methods.
Performing a factory reset of your Fire TV Stick will deregister your Amazon account from it and make it look like a newly purchased one.
You will have to start afresh that includes pairing your remote, connecting to your Wi-Fi, adding Amazon credentials, downloading apps , and similar things.
Now that you know what the happens after you perform a factory reset, here are five ways to do it. Step 2: Once the Fire TV Stick is up and running, use the navigation buttons on your remote to navigate to Settings at the top.
Select it. Step 5: A dialog box will appear asking you to confirm your decision of resetting the Stick.
